It must have been a thrill for Dave to work with Julian Lennon on the 1985 American Music Awards. John Lennon is the artist that Dave admires the most. On the left is drummer Vinnie Calaiuta, and on the far right is old-time friend Ricky Phillips. Ricky has been the bass player with STYX for several years.

Dave is a huge St Louis Cardinals Baseball fan. Tony LaRussa was the Cardinals manager 1996-2011.

Richie Sambora has been a close friend of Dave’s since the Cher days when Richie was dating Cher. Here they are at one of Dave’s favorite guitar shops, Norms Rare Guitars. That would be Norm on Dave’s left.

Ted Nugent gave Dave his first big break, Dave joined Ted when Derek St Holmes left. Ted and Dave remain good friends. 2012 finds Ted touring with REO and STYX! BTW: Derek St Holmes is back with Ted and is also good friends with Dave.

The photo that could have been, but never was: One day when Dave and Richie Sambora were working in the studio, they ran into Sir Paul McCartney! Richie ran and got his camera and Dave took a photo of Richie with Paul. Dave was too shy to ask for HIS OWN photo with Sir Paul! Dave is still kicking himself for not being more forward.
