07/10/08 Dave called today to say he found a photo he really wanted on the front page. I asked him about meeting Jimmy Page and Brian May while in England. Dave said he went to a Kid Rock concert on a night off, and when backstage he ran into Jimmy Page. Dave said he introduced himself to Jimmy as "Dave of REO" and Jimmy was very pleasant. Dave also went out one evening with a group of people that included Brian may from Queen. Brian May was a lot of fun and easy to talk to.
THREE PAGES of new photos have been posted by editor Terry Lacny. Some of these are really exceptional and different from the standard stage shots. Many thanks to those who shared their photos, and to Terry for working them into webpages to be presented here. REO fans are the GREATEST! Use Photo Book link knob at bottom of page. See photo books Tour 2008 Page 3, 4, and 5. 07/07/08 Burning time while waiting on a flight, Dave called to talk guitars. He'd just been to the Gibson Acoustic Guitar factory and special ordered a Double Neck Acoustic guitar. This will be a total "One Of A Kind" custom guitar made for Dave to his specs. The top neck will be a 12 string, and the bottom a standard 6 string. Very Cool! Dave is also enthused about a custom ordered guitar from Nash Guitars. This will be a Jeff Beck STYLE Telecaster (Esquire really) guitar. We should expect to see this one on stage. Though this guitar will not come from the Fender camp, Dave is very impressed with the craftsmanship and authentic appearance of the artificial aging done by Bill Nash. Dave introduced Kevin to a Nash Guitar, and Kevin had to have it. Check out their website at: www.NashGuitars.com All feedback coming to us and to Dave about the PBS TV airing of the REO "Soundstage Performance" has been excellent. This webmaster has not been able to catch the show in Utah. I'm going to have to order it to see it. Not a bad idea anyway!

Classic photo at left was sent in by David Plastik. Photos of Dave and Ted seem to be rather rare. We've only seen a handfull here at this site. This photo will be added as a perminant part of the Career Section. Thanks Dave! |
02/06/08 Dave tells me that the new DVD was handed over to the A&E (TV) people a while back. It is up to A&E to schedule it for airing on TV, then for sale. He doesn't have any details of a timeline for that to happen.
Dave has been guitar shopping again. We'll be adding to the list a 1970 Telecaster Custom in Black with Bigsby, 1983 Explorer (sister guitar to his 83 Flying V) and a genuine 1965 Gibson J160E, which is the same as John Lennon's.
10/26/07 Neal Doughty sent in this photo of a Fender Esquire guitar which was played on stage by Dave. The guitar was discovered at a frequent venue of theirs... The Biloxi Mississippi Hard Rock! The Hard Rock moves their stuff around, so one of Dave's guitars could turn up anywhere. Let us know if you spot one, and get a photo if you can. Thanks Neal!
10/01/07 Dave checked in last night to say that the new DVD is "UNBELIEVABLE"! He's really enthused about the project and is happy with the way it is coming out. They have it half-way complete, but due to a busy tour schedule they won't have much time to work on it this month.
08/06/07 Photo above is of the "Never Seen on an American Stage" "B-rig". Check out those massive triple stacked red Marshall speaker cabinets!
| 04/26/07 Fans are reporting that the "Find Your Own Way Home" triple CD/DVD is already sold out in their neighborhood WalMart stores. It is still available on line at www.WalMart.com, use this link for direct access. | ![]() |
