07/10/08 Dave called today to say he found a photo he really wanted on the front page. I asked him about meeting Jimmy Page and Brian May while in England. Dave said he went to a Kid Rock concert on a night off, and when backstage he ran into Jimmy Page. Dave said he introduced himself to Jimmy as "Dave of REO" and Jimmy was very pleasant. Dave also went out one evening with a group of people that included Brian may from Queen. Brian May was a lot of fun and easy to talk to. THREE PAGES of new photos have been posted by editor Terry Lacny. Some of these are really exceptional and different from the standard stage shots. See photo books Tour 2008 Page 3, 4, and 5. 07/07/08 Burning time while waiting on a flight, Dave called to talk guitars. He'd just been to the Gibson Acoustic Guitar factory and special ordered a Double Neck Acoustic guitar. This will be a total "One Of A Kind" custom guitar made for Dave to his specs. The top neck will be a 12 string, and the bottom a standard 6 string. Very Cool! Dave is also enthused about a custom ordered guitar from Nash Guitars. This will be a Jeff Beck STYLE Telecaster (Esquire really) guitar. We should expect to see this one on stage. Though this guitar will not come from the Fender camp, Dave is very impressed with the craftsmanship and authentic appearance of the artificial aging done by Bill Nash. Dave introduced Kevin to a Nash Guitar, and Kevin had to have it. This webmaster has not been able to catch the show in Utah. I'm going to have to order it to see it. Not a bad idea anyway!

06/01/08 Dave called this morning to say hello to the fans and to pass on he is very enthused about the upcoming Euopean Tour with Def Leppard and Journey. When given the right stuff, those great European fans really know how to ROCK! Dave is also enthused about a guitar he is buying from Norm's. It is a 1960 Gibson, Double-Cutaway, Les Paul Special in deep red which has turned to more of a brown with age. Nope, we won't be seeing this guitar on stage as this model just doesn't have the full-throated heavy sound for those classic REO rockers. Still a very cool guitar for the collector. We hope to add a photo to the collection section in the future.

3/05/08  The May issue of Vintage Guitar Magazine has a feature article about Dave's guitar collection.  Dave is interviewed by Willie G. Moselley about his "Guitar Arsenal", his favorite vintage guitars, and how he acquired them.  The magazine cover shows a pile of Dave's Fender guitars and has a little photo insert of Dave.  The inside of the magazine has several good photos by Rick Gould.  

Classic photo at left was sent in by David Plastik. Photos of Dave and Ted seem to be rather rare. We've only seen a handfull here at this site. This photo will be added as a perminant part of the Career Section. Thanks Dave!
